| Requirement |
I. QUALIFICATIONS A. He shall be a person of high Christian character and deep spiritual commitment. B. He shall have adequate educational background to prepare him to perform the duties of his office. C. He shall be adequately informed in and hold strong convictions concerning Baptist doctrine and policy as found in the “Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. D. He shall be well informed about and cooperative with the program and work of the Illinois Baptist State Association and the Southern Baptist Convention. E. He shall have had sufficient leadership experience to equip him to plan and implement helpful programs in the Association. II. RESPONSIBILITIES A. He shall lead the Association to understand and endeavor to achieve its approved objectives. B. He shall lead in planning and conducting a program of work that will give assistance to the churches in the performance of their mission and help them to develop and mature spiritually and in fellowship with sister churches. C. He shall lead in the promoting/establishing new church plants. D. He shall lead in the planning and conducting of mission’s trips/projects that will benefit churches. E. He shall take leadership in promoting the activities of the denomination in the Association and in working out a calendar of activities. F. He shall respond to the call of individual churches for assistance in church growth, leadership, training, and other needs that may arise. G. He shall give counsel to the elected leadership of the Association. H. He shall supervise the work of all the employed personal of the Association. I. He shall direct the publications of bulletins, a monthly news letter, and the printing of other materials produced by the Association. J. He shall serve as Chairman of the Associational Leadership Team. K. He shall be ex-officio member of all committees. L. He shall report to the regular meetings of the Associational Executive Board and to the annual Associational meeting. M. He shall attend a regular worship service of each Associational church at least once a year. More information will be discussed with applicant |
